Justice Minister considering Fr. Molloy report – Naughten
Local TD Denis Naughten has been informed by Justice Minister Alan Shatter that he is currently reviewing the Garda report into the death of Fr. Niall Molloy.
Denis Naughten raised the issue in the Dáil last week where he called on the Justice Minister to establish an independent inquiry into the priest’s violent death, a request that the family of Fr. Molloy have sought over a long number of years.
Responding, Minister Alan Shatter stated that he had “only recently received a detailed report from the Garda Commissioner on the investigation”.
He went on to state that he is currently studying the report “in the context of considering any further steps which might be appropriate in relation to this matter”.
