Local Minister Denis Naughten has welcomed the opening of the new motorway from Tuam to Gort, which ensures that Roscommon & Galway are now directly connected to two international airports by motorway.

“With the enhancement of services at Knock Airport and the roll out of 1000mbps high speed broadband to many local towns and villages over the coming months makes our area very attractive for new job investment,” stated Minister Naughten.

“We have already seen new interest in investment locally with five separate investment visits and meetings having taken place locally on top of a Chinese investment delegation. While many of these projects are at an early stage, the fact that they are considering locating in our county is significant.

“Coupled with increased motorway access to our airports this is adding to the attractiveness of the area for investment.”
