Naughten confirms almost €600,000 for Roscommon to support job & skills training and help those communities who need it most

In Education, News by Denis Naughten

I am pleased to confirm €598,350 has been allocated to Roscommon under the Government’s Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme in 2018.

“The funding will support those communities across Roscommon that need it most. It will support and assist, on a practical level, the unemployed and those on low income, people with disabilities and single parent families. Part of the funding will also go towards job and skills training and life-long learning for people who want it.”

The Programme is overseen at a community level by the Roscommon Local Community Development Committee.

“Today’s announcement is part of a national allocation by my Cabinet colleague the Minister for Community and Rural Development Michael Ring which will see the Government invest €190 million over five years to support the most disadvantaged communities across every county.”
