Local TD, Denis Naughten has welcomed the approval of funding to upgrade the North East Roscommon & Ballyleague water schemes.

The investment will address ongoing problems associated with the water supply from Grange Lough and the Ballyleague borehole” said Denis Naughten

Furthermore, the project will include the upgrading of the water treatment system at Grange Lough which is currently vulnerable to contamination from Cryptosporidium.

The planned upgrade of both water supplies has been ongoing for close to a decade and this approval will ensure that the local communities served by the existing water supplies, will see the public water supply enhanced, with a dramatic reduction in the risk of future contamination” concluded Denis Naughten
