Following the visit of both Queen Elizabeth and President Obama, Denis Naughten TD has congratulated all those involved in the successful security operation – especially the local members of An Garda Síochána and the Defence Forces.

“The visit of both dignitaries to Ireland went safely and securely due to the expertise and skills of the combined efforts of the Gardai and Defence Forces, which included a number of local personnel,” stated Denis Naughten.

“The operation and coordination of traffic as well as cooperation with two separate external security details was immensely challenging but the tasks were carried out with great professionalism.

“Members of the public can be proud of both An Garda Síochána and the Defence Forces who can clearly measure up to and even exceed the standards of those of other security forces throughout the world,” he concluded.
