Announcement on Roscommon jobs expected by mid-year – Naughten

In Jobs, Mid-Roscommon by Denis Naughten

Local TD Denis Naughten has been informed that an announcement on the IDA jobs in Roscommon Town is expected by the middle of 2015.

Deputy Naughten raised the issue again recently with the Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton, who informed him that “IDA Ireland that it is confident that it will be in a position to make an announcement relating to the above pipeline project before the end of the second quarter of 2015”.

The news has been welcomed by Denis Naughten who has been in constant communication with both the IDA and Minister Richard Bruton to secure a tenant for the vacant IDA advance factory on the Racecourse Road. Denis Naughten confirmed last autumn that he had been informed by the Minister that the IDA had offered support to a business planning to establish an operation in Roscommon Town.

“This is a very positive development and the creation of these jobs in Roscommon Town will build on current biopharma projects taking place in the county,” stated Denis Naughten. “I welcome the fact that this important jobs project can be delivered for County Roscommon.”

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation (Mr Bruton)

I am informed by IDA Ireland that it is confident that it will be in a position to make an announcement relating to the above pipeline project before the end of the second quarter of 2015.  I am sure that the Deputy will appreciate that it would not be appropriate for me to comment further at this stage.
