Naughten calls east coast jobs to be brought to Carrick following AvantCard announcement

Denis Naughten TD has called on the IDA and the Jobs Minister to bring east coast job expansion plans to Carrick-on-Shannon following the announcement of 35 job losses at AvantCard.

“Over the last couple of months we have businesses based on the east coast complaining that they cannot access affordable office accommodation or housing accommodation for staff,” explained Denis Naughten.

“At the same time we see a state-of-the-art office development in Carrick-on-Shannon, which was used to accommodate MBNA, gathering dust.

“It’s about time that we join up the dots and bring new job announcements to towns like Carrick-on-Shannon which have the staff with the technical skills needed, an abundance of modern offices and affordable housing accommodation,” said Denis Naughten.
