Local TD Denis Naughten has been informed that Pobal has confirmed that it will fund a new day service to replace the existing one, which is expected to commence operation within the next week or so.

“There was a fear that when funding was withdrawn last month it may not be reinstated. However I can now confirm that Pobal is to commence funding a service to be managed by Roscommon LEADER Partnership from next Monday,” stated Denis Naughten.

“It is expected that the new service in Keadue will become operational soon after that with a day service and a meals on wheels service.

“This has been a very anxious time for older people and I’m glad that after a lot of work behind the scenes the new service will be operational as soon as possible.

“I want to personally thank all of those who have worked so hard over the last number of weeks to secure this service for older people in North Roscommon.”
