Local TD, Denis Naughten has welcomed the allocation of €110,625 for 4 local projects to help rural towns and villages to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The funding will support enhancement of Ballinasloe, Athleague, Castlerea & Keadue to help support rural businesses and communities to rebuild in response to COVID-19.
Funding of €40,000 has been allocated to the town of Ballinasloe to support the ShopBallinasloe.ie initiative as well as outdoor seating and a Christmas festival experience.
In Athleague €25,000 has been secured for the purchase of equipment to facilitate outdoor activities throughout the year.
The town of Castlerea has secured €22,860 for the purchase of outdoor seating, generator and outdoor cinema screen for outdoor events.
Funding of €22,764 has been allocated to replace the forecourt to the front of St. Ronan’s Hall in Keadue.
