Local TD Denis Naughten has confirmed that the first three broadband connection points in Creeve, Gortaganny and Tulsk have now gone live, providing high speed broadband hotspots in those communities.

At the end of last month, the high-speed broadband connections at Creeve Community Centre, Gortaganny Resource Centre and Tulsk Digi Hub went live and these connection points are now available to the public as part of the National Broadband Plan.

“These three locations are the first of 15 across Roscommon and East Galway. Others will be coming on stream over the coming weeks to provide communities with free high-speed internet access at publicly accessible sites pending the delivery of fibre cable to homes,” said Mr Naughten, one of the architects behind the National Broadband Plan.

“These communities and others across Roscommon and Galway will be able to provide hotdesking facilities to locals and visitors, which will benefit those who work remotely or want to relocate to rural Ireland,” concluded Denis Naughten.
