Families to be left without proper broadband as they fail to report problems

Hundreds of families could be left without proper broadband because they have failed to check their broadband colour code.

Again, over the last number of days I’ve come across families who are struggling with their broadband, but will be bypassed by the National Broadband Plan, because they have failed to report their broadband problems to the Department of Communications.

Despite many many calls over the last number of years, families with poor broadband who are in the dark blue area on the National Broadband Plan map, are set to be bypassed and left without a decent service.

These are homes mainly in villages and towns who are currently availing of a fibre to the cabinet service, but who are not getting a minimum of 30mbps.

If they are left behind, this will devalue their property and could leave them without decent broadband for years to come.
