Funding of €4.1m has been allocated to local projects under the active travel scheme, which will make walking far safer in many local areas, says Denis Naughten TD.

“Right across Roscommon and East Galway over 30 projects have been funded ranging from extensions of footpaths to local amenities and improved school safety to the enhancement of public transport and active travel plans.

“This is a very positive development for improving local facilities and I am delighted to have been able to assist some of local communities in securing this investment in conjunction with both Roscommon and Galway County Councils,” said Denis Naughten.
