New shelter for Roscommon train station – Naughten

In Disability, Families, Infrastructure, Local Issues, Mid-Roscommon, News, Older People, Young People by Denis Naughten

A new shelter is to be installed on the platform at Roscommon train station later this year, Denis Naughten TD has confirmed.

Denis Naughten had raised the lack of shelter for passengers waiting for trains on the western platform with Iarnród Éireann.

“I understand Iarnród Éireann is in the process of conducting a station furniture audit of its network to establish where current furniture is not up to an acceptable standard and where additional passenger facilities are required,” explained Denis Naughten.

“As  part of this it has been confirmed that a new shelter will be installed on this platform later this year.”

ENDS.

Dear Deputy Naughton

Iarnród Éireann is in the process of conducting a Station furniture audit of network to establish the gap analysis where current furniture is not to corporate standards and where additional passenger facility assets are required.

I am pleased to confirm that a Shelter is planned to be installed on this platform in late 2021.

Regards,

IÉ Oireachtas Liaison
