Local TD Denis Naughten has welcomed the announcement by Avantcard that it is to create 40 new jobs as a result of its partnership with An Post, which he announced last year.

“This job announcement builds on the recent recruitment of 58 staff in Carrick-on-Shannon and brings the local workforce to 220 employees,” said Denis Naughten.

“An Post credit card and personal loan services, which will be available in every single post office across the country, operate from Avantcard in Carrick-on-Shannon. This will benefit people by bringing financial services to every single parish in Ireland as well as supporting employment in the area.

“This partnership is as a direct result of my engagement with Avantcard management and I expect to see further jobs growth locally as this new relationship between An Post and Avantcard grows,” concluded Denis Naughten.
