Investment is boost for local tourism

Local TD Denis Naughten has welcomed the allocation of €367,000 for Roscommon swimming pool pointing out that “it will improve accessibility to the pool for people with a disability”.

“The funding will be of benefit to people with mobility difficulties, the elderly and local organisations such as the Brothers of Charity and the Resource centre,” explained Denis Naughten.

“But this will also be a boost for local tourism projects such as Cuisle, which promotes accessible holidays, and will help to build the reputation of County Roscommon as a centre for holidays for people with disabilities.

“This investment also includes improvements to the energy efficiency of the pool and leisure centre that will reduce the overall operating costs, which is at least a small bit of positive news for hard pressed rate payers throughout County Roscommon,” concluded Denis Naughten.
