In Mid-Roscommon, News by Denis Naughten

The ongoing threat of flooding within the vicinity of Lough Funshinagh will be discussed in Dáil Eireann this evening by local TD Denis Naughten.

Denis Naughten has secured the consent of the Ceann Comhairle to have the issue of the threat of flooding of homes discussed in the Dáil this evening.  This discussion comes in advance of a meeting of key State stakeholders which is to take place at the request of Denis Naughten following the continual rise of flood waters over Christmas.

Furthermore, the Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue, and the Minister for the Office of Public Works, Patrick O’Donovan TD, are also set to meet next Wednesday to explore measures to address the ongoing threat of flooding within the vicinity of Lough Funshinagh.

“As a result, this evening’s discussion in advance of these key meetings next week will be important to ensure that Government is fully aware of the dire situation on the ground locally,” said Denis Naughten
