Local Minister Denis Naughten has urged both sides in the Roscommon County Council dispute to “sit down and resolve the issues on foot of the intervention by the National Oversight Body earlier this evening”.

“This dispute is having a direct impact on important services provided by the County Council to the people of County Roscommon so a resolution needs to be agreed. I know from talking directly to both staff and management that everyone is anxious to avoid any further impact on communities and individuals.”

“I want to acknowledge the work that has taken place over the last number of days. The Workplace Relations Commission stands ready to support negotiations and assist in facilitating an agreement,” concluded Minister Denis Naughten.
